Profile

Sri Production is an artistic and cultural organisation from East Java. They are deeply committed to the exploration and development of the arts and cultural treasures found in East Java and are backed up by various artists and experts.
Sri Mulyani is the founder as well as the choreographer of the dance group who have shown their artistic skills world wide: Festival “Tour de France”; Indonesian Festival at Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia; Mundial on Tour, The Netherlands; Egyptian Annual Festival in Manissa (Izmir) Turkey.

Synopsis

When in May 2006 man-made disaster in the form of hot, poisonous mud descended upon the Sidoarjo region, Banjar Panji was right in the centre of hell, leaving hundreds dead and even more  homeless. Up to date no solutions whatsoever have been found to stop the poisonous mud welling up from the deep – it is still spreading, forcing people from their homes and threatening to continue its deadly path all over the area.
The ballad is dedicated to the helpless and suffering poor of Sidoarjo, forgotten by the rest of the world. It is a petiton directed at the government, the responsible corporation, scientists as well as humanitarian organisations to find solutions and to help those in dire need.
